Nothing for its own sake: action to progression to invention, so that deeds do not stand alone, but propel or enrich the doer.
As a student my emphasis is on translation, using what I am currently and continuously equipped with to explore other applications and discover the next step.
Acting technique and theory, movement analysis, writing, and directing are my current interests as I study theatre in my third year of undergraduate work at the University of Florida. My projects for this semester include: dramaturgy for Macbeth, Connie in Jack Goes Boating, publicity for Florida Players, and ensemble member for Scorched Grounds, a new play. I am also planning out individual projects, such as playwriting and devised performance pieces.
This blog was created for a UF course to examine the emerging art of E-literature and use design techniques to create a “learning screen” for a particular work of print literature. Through experiencing Calvino’s memos and creating my own, I was glad to see the permeation of these qualities into everything else I was working on; I feel that they will help my artistic sensibilities to further develop.
Explore, discover, and enjoy!
